The question of “why” has always intrigued me more than “what” or “how”. While “what” and “how” demonstrate a repeatable process, “why” reveals someone’s intentions and motivations. And let’s be honest, long after a person’s “how” has been exhausted, their “why” keeps them fighting for a cause. In the article below, Vicktor Hark explains why he fights for the Caldari Militia.
Originally I started my fight for the state as a simple pilot looking for something new to try in EVE and Caldari Militia was the first one I came to when I joined a small frigate focused corp The No.1 Crazy Fighter Squadron (Closed) as you can see now closed as the founder and CEO didn’t have the time run a corp, so following on from that I created the Black Talon Assult Force and decided to focus my emerging skill as an FC to fully support the Caldari war effort.
In my first few months of FC’ing for the Calmil I came to respect the pilots (skilled or not) who have and still do put a lot of effort into fighting the galmil, who on avrage have better pilots, more isk and more active pilots in the US TZ than Calmil has, which they use to full effect when one of their home system’s is threatened.
Having been with the calmil for over 6 months now I find myself loving the day to day fights, the passion and skill of a lot of calmil pilots and the comradeship we have built between several groups of players.
That is not to say there haven’t been problems, one of the largest of which is the inability of some Alliance Head’s and CEO of corps in Calmil to coordinate, to work with other CEO’s and FC’s and to look at a wider picture of the war zone, rather than just their home systems. I had made it my personal goal over the last 3 months to drag calmil together in a unified front to varying degrees of success, namely the formation of the alliances TALONS OF BLOOD which drew several highly skilled and dedicated corps together to fight on common terms and doctrines. This of course had faults and problems leading to a corp being removed and 1 leaving, these problems have since been address with 3 of the most active corps: Black Talon Assult, Black Talon Training and Theory Group merging to create We Are Not Good or EWANG for short.
So back to the reasons of “Why I fight for Calmil” I fight for all of the above, for my corp mates, my alliances bros, my friends in wider calmil, for the community most of us have helped build and most of all FOR THE STATE. I thank BORG, CSSYN, GHOIT and OMG leadership for their help building this militia to what we have today other thanks go out to TEST and Templis general membership for their activity and work with Calmil’s wider goals and every other corp that has contributed as there are too many to list.
Kindest Regards and utmost respects
Vicktor Hark, Chief FC of TALONS Alliance
