Faction Warfare has seen quite the surge in popularity lately in the broader “EVE media” world. While other areas of space are idling and dealing with player apathy, our warzones…

Below is a guest article submitted by Mira deVorsha and Wally Barenkamp interviewing GUIYNAN and PERUNGA, both FC’s in the Gallente militia. This interview was done shortly after the Burn Okkamon…

Why would two of the most deadly corps in the Gallente Militia start an alliance together? Why not? The Black Fox Marauders are only a year old but their roughly…

Ah Khan. The source of so much love and so much hate in Caldari militia. Some loved him for his constant fleets, his effectiveness in pushing the war zone and taking what he wanted. Others hated the drama that seemed to revolve around him and his friends. The civil wars, the tremendous ego.

Winning is easy, losing the right way is hard. Justified Chaos [JUSTK] was started at a fairly critical point in FW. The rules of the game had changed, the Caldari were steam-rolling the Gallente systems in hopes of getting to a Tier 5 cash out.

I’ve been playing eve since 2009. Stupidly, I biomassed two fairly advanced players in 2010. Yet Eve keeps me coming back, and where am I, to stay? Gallente Militia. Why? What are the reasons? Well, I’m a 46-year-old single gamer. I’ve done a fair bit in Eve that is solo. I wasn’t always in the Gallente Militia.

Like most pilots, I entered FW for the opportunity to learn how to PVP. I had a short stint as a director/recruiter for my first Gallente Militia corp, The Screaming War Eagles. It was there that I was exposed to some of the veteran corps that anchored The Federation. The exposure to the inner circle gave me an understanding of what made Gallente tick and it influenced the path I would create for myself going forward.

It’s interesting to watch the pendulum swing in militia. As a side gets to Tier 4, farmers take advantage of it until the value of items on their side starts to plummet, at which point they stop and start to work on the other side. You can’t underestimate the power that the non-combatant farming characters hold over faction warfare. While many join FW just to PVP, there are many more that join just to earn money. With TEST and BORG off doing their own operations in null-sec, Gallente seized the opportunity to flip the war in their favor, and did so to great effect.

Why do I fight for the Gallente in Factional warfare? It seems like a simple question and I should be able to answer this question with a simple one line response. I fight for the Gallente because “Gallente rules, Caldari drools!” The truth of course is much more complicated and the real question should be why do I continue to fight for the Gallente in Factional warfare.
