Breaking Update: Iron Oxide Drops Faction Warfare

In a shocking turn of events, Iron Oxide has announced its departure from the Tribal Liberation Force. In an EVE Forum post in the Warfare and Tactics section viewable here, David Devant of Iron Oxide’s CTRL-Q had this to say:

“Dear Warfare and Tactics

I am saddened to tell you that Iron Oxide have dropped from the TLF. It has become apparent that we cannot hope to hold Huola and so we are bowing out from the fight. We may well come back to the TLF at some point but for now we will be going pirate. Friendly entities are invited to arrange blues.

Thanks to everyone we have fought alongside and well done to the Amarr. I hope you will appreciate that without tz presence after LNA left and the Periphery went we were kind of screwed. Added to which however we have faced a competent foe who has brought a few decent fights along the way. No bitterness on our side there.

We’re pretty tired right now and will be looking to spend time with our families during this difficult period. I hope you will respect our privacy on this matter.

Much love

David Devant”

With Iron Oxide’s departure following Late Night Alliance and the Periphery, the only major pro-Minmatar entity is the alliance of Smile ‘n’ Wave, which is currently embroiled in a bid for Amamake. In the meantime, after almost one thousand days of occupation, Huola stands vulnerable against the combined onslaught of an essentially united Amarrian coalition. Many of the veteran Amarr militia pilots see the departure of Iron Oxide as bittersweet, as any campaign to retake Huola has basically become a plexing effort–rather than the bloodbath that characterized the siege of the system in the summer. In many ways, it cheapens any effort to retake the system. As written by Master Sergeant MacRobert of 24eme Legion Etrangere’s Space-Brewery-Association, “Should Huola fall, it will feel a bit hollow with the absence of a fight from the main players that have left.”

The war drags on with the few Minmatar holdout systems that remain, but it would seem that the fortress that was Huola has finally started to crumble.

  1. Ghost of deep space is a very active alliance with TLF and has taken two systems back from the amarr.

  2. Faction War was fun for a long time. Eventually it just got really stale. Same thing every week. But there are lots of other aspects of Eve to explore, so off we go.

  3. Wow. Nobody cares it seems. With 3 (now 4) comments and none about FEO. It seems they are infact irrelevant. Lol
