Faction Warfare Fitting Lab: Brick Top

Welcome to another edition of the weird and funfetti that is the FW Fitting lab. This article is meant to bring a large positive impact on a fleet of Frigates with minimal SP. This fit can easily be reduced to much much lower SP if needed. However, I went with a very basic T2 fit and mods making the requirements still quite minimal.

The Hull:

Punisher

  • Amarr Frigate bonuses (Per level): 5% bonus to Small Energy Turret Damage (Meh… its pretty pathetic. Lets get to the good stuff.)
  • Amarr Frigate bonuses (Per level): 4% bonus to all armor resistances (Thats 20% to all resists at level 5. P.S.- This is the good stuff.)

The Fit:

Punisher

[Empty High slot] 125mm Gatling AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma S

Small Trimark Armor Pump I

Requirements:

  • No Real Requirements. Hull Upgrades V, and basic T2 Skills

Pros:

  • 17.4k EHP (This is a T1 frig right? YUP. *Bonus: MG Slaves + Links = 26.3k EHP)
  • High Resist Profile
  • It’s Still alive?…
  • Yep still alive!…

Cons:

  • 75 dps (Does this thing do any damage? NOPE)
  • No web
  • Slow as dirt
  • Really really screams bait
  • BUT WERE STILL ALIVE

How to fly:

I’m actually going to go into some detail here because this is a noob friendly fit. So i’ll assume generally you may not know how to fly this at all. Not much though. This isn’t hand-holding central.

Step 1:

Set default orbit to 500m, and default keep at range at 10,000km so you can run away when backup arrives.

Step 2:

In the event you find a fun target, you can call for backup anywhere. They have time to respond. Otherwise warp your little butt into the plex your FC tells you to go to .

Step 3:

Outside of plex is empty – Slide in

Outside of plex is not empty – Is he at far range? Yes (Slide in and warp off and await further instructions or get a better warp in range.) / No he’s at zero (Scram and orbit)

Step 4:

Be a gentleman and shoot the drones.

Step 5:

Once secondary tackle is established, use your keep at range, and disengage. Your job is done, and you are the hero tackle for today!

Conclusion:

Buy this ship to bait tank anything you want, any size other then T3D. Otherwise leave it in the hanger till someone says I need tackle.

  1. No wonder we are loosing the warzone when our guys come up with fits like this. First the slasher with polarized guns, now a punisher with autocannons and an empty high slot.

    • Putting minmatar guns on amarr ships is a pretty old practice, as amarr ships often don’t have damage bonuses.
Personally I don’t like it as it means breaking focus on the character’s skills, and role-playing wise probably hard to make a case for it, but just from a game play perspective it can still make sense.

The losing part probably comes more from all tank no gank in this fitting, and not from autocannons

      • This is quite simply the case of someone scrolling clicking on the fit, then scrolling to the bottom and laying some smack talk like i’m going to go cry or something mental on youtube. Anyways, this is a place for the unusual and extreme of fits. The article clearly states its uses and reasons. Please feel free to read my other articles and comment on them, in a less lazy fashion.

  2. It doesn’t really matter what you set your orbit to, you’ll be where your opponent wants you to be because you have no range control.

punisher might be okay after the changes with oversize prop and nano’s but it’s a bad ship.

    • Not that your wrong, Because the punisher is a very badly designed hull. On almost every account. But this ship has effectively tanked gate guns and a cruiser while my fleet killed the cruiser. If you scram an AB cruiser you can stay in range, If you scram anything larger then a cruiser not only can you stay in range, but you can tank for a very long time.

I have been using this fit for years now, I know the in’s and out’s of most of the ships I show here, I tend to fly them for a while , not usually years but long enough to get an understanding of the capabilities. If you get tackle on something small, then bait it with another one or 2 frigs with a web, then once they are on field and he stays aka a svipul who would easily think 3 t1 frigs is easy. but now he is dual webbed and a whole fleet is incoming.

Tactics are deadly, and all is fair.

  3. This fit was made by Partial Safety, a pirate corp. They have been using it for about 10 months now.
